Vegetarian Carnivore?! Isn’t that an oxymoron? Nope, not at all.
Our definition of “carnivore” is “animal-based foods.” This includes dairy products, like butter, ghee, heavy cream, cheeses (hard and soft cheeses, cream cheese, cottage cheese, etc.), kefir, and yogurt. It also includes eggs, ideally from pasture-raised chickens.

Because it is vegetarian, none of the “animal-based foods” are meat, poultry, or fish.
Is the Vegetarian Carnivore Diet nutritionally balanced?
The quick answer is “No, not on a long-term basis.”
In order for a truly carnivore diet to be nutritionally balanced, it would need to contain organ meats and other cuts of meat that contain essential vitamins and minerals. This could include foods that might not be acceptable to an Adventist Vegetarian Diabetic.
In order for a vegetarian diet to be nutritionally balanced, it should contain eggs and dairy products, otherwise known as a lacto-ovo vegetarian protocol.
Why Eat a Vegetarian Carnivore Diet?
Adventist Vegetarian Diabetics recommends a Vegetarian Carnivore Diet (eggs and dairy products) for a short-term solution to lower blood glucose and insulin after “falling off the wagon” of your usual low-carb dietary protocol. Sometimes it’s helpful to have a Vegetarian Carnivore day once a week or even just a Vegetarian Carnivore meal. Please consider it!
