Rutabagas (also called Swede or Yellow Turnip) are considered a moderate-carb root vegetable, with 10.5 grams of carbohydrate in 1/2 cup. However, that’s an improvement over potatoes, with 17.8 grams of carbohydrate in 1/2 cup. I would recommend having 1/4 c. of rutabaga for one diabetic serving.
